Ingredients
  • roast beef sliced
  • barbecue sauce
  • Napa cabbage slaw
  • dill pickles optional
  • buns toasted
Method
  1. Place the slices of roast beef in a sauce pan with just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and turn the heat to simmer.
  2. When heated add enough barbecue sauce to coat the meat.
  3. Hold on low until ready to serve (You may need to add a little more water and sauce depending on how long the meat simmers).
Serve
  1. Toast some buns and let your guests build their sandwich however they like. Just pile on the beef, top it with a spoon full of slaw, and crown it with some dill pickles. Delicious!
Cooks Notes

This is the perfect sandwich to serve at a BBQ. For a large group, prepare a roast in the crock pot the day before.

This is also a creative way to use up some leftover beef or pork roast, as well as chicken.

 

Napa Cabbage Slaw

Ingredients
  • 1 head napa cabbage chopped
  • 1 carrot shredded
  • ¼ cup white onion diced
  • 3 scallions sliced
  • 3 tablespoons ranch dressing
  • 3 tablespoons green goddess dressing
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • salt and pepper to taste
Method
  1. Place cabbage, carrot, and onions in a large bowl.
  2. Mix dressings with celery seed.
  3. Pour dressing over and toss. (You may need more or less dressing depending on the size of your cabbage and your personal taste).

 

Toast some buns and let your guests build their sandwich however they like. Just pile on the beef and top with a spoon full of slaw and a dill pickle. How easy was that? Now go and enjoy your party.
